Crossing the Ice is an oil on wood panel, 3 x 4 “ winter landscape. The winter ice is still walkable and thick in areas of our wetlands but the daytime thaws leave unexpected pools in the snow and around the trees.
In this painting, the sky is heavily painted and the warm sun on the snow in the background foretells spring while the thin cold foreground melts away.
I don’t put hanging hardware on these small works as they hang better and flush to the wall on a straight nail.
