During live sets with bands, dj’s and singer/songwriters Newlove works to record and paint a direct expression of the music using layers of organic washes and heavy mark-making. Abstract figures and buildings are carefully constructed and then deconstructed as Newlove captures thoughts of man and machine, urban life and concepts of hope and freedom.
Tina Newlove is a founding member of Tribe of One. Tribe of One is a Canadian Performance Collective that fuses the soul of Indigenous folk-funk rock with English, French, First Nation & Metis, singers, dancers, painters & musicians.
