Summer Sun and Free Movement: Live Paintings Polished Up

Over the last few weeks I created a couple of new works live. I use washes of acrylics for the live paintings and then finish them up in the studio in oils.  The first piece I painted was at Towne Square Gallery in Oakville ON on a beautiful sunny day. Here is a short clip on Instagram.

And here is the finished piece after some love in the studio where a couple more figures demanded to be seen.

Summer Sun, oil on canvas, 24 x 36″, available at Towne Square Gallery.

The second painting, Free Movement, was created in my studio to live music by fabulous artist/musician Christina Sealey   as part of her artist residency here in our BirchView Cabin. Adventuring figures cross borders and boundaries while exploring new landscapes.

More to come on artist residencies at BirchView Cabin in the future.
