Under the Sun Exhibition, Nathaniel Hughson Gallery 2013

I chose the name Under the Sun for this exhibition because of the references to the sun in my work such as in She Stepped into a Patch of Sunlight, oil on canvas, The Sun and the Moon Everyday, oil on hand-cut printed paper, and the title piece Under the Sun, Pirate/Protest (She Took What She Wanted), stitched lace on velvet. The sunlight becomes a physical space to inhabit, a constant measurement of time and a watchful presence.
